I’m super excited to  be nominated! I’m finally at a computer where I can figure out exactly what I am supposed to do here! 🙂

So, the Liebster Award is all about discovering new blogs. Being a newish blogger, another newish blogger Iwestonuk of Everywhere Bucket List and Leslie of The Real Uganda have nominated me to answer these following questions, to learn more about me and my blog! I decided to combine these into one and select some questions from each ladies list.

Rules for The Liebster Award Nomination:

  • each nominee must link back the person who nominated them
  • answer the 11 questions
  • nominate 11 other bloggers for this award who have less than 500 followers
  • create 11 questions for your nominees to answer
  • you can’t nominate the one who tagged you
  • let the nominees know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them

Thanks for the nom! And, here goes:

1. When and why did you start blogging? I started blogging years ago, but stopped. I have a private blog that I use to journal my thoughts about life. I recently started this travel  blog about a month ago. I’ve always loved writing as an outlet. It’s therapeutic to get your thoughts out onto paper. I started my travel blog to share my stories with others who are interested in hearing them.
2. How many people make up your household? Just me and my 13 year old son.
3. How many times have you changed careers since you started working?  I’ve made one major change. My bachelor’s degree is in Accounting, and I worked in Corporate America for about 6 years. A couple of years ago, I decided to go back and pursue my Master’s in Social Work. I have always had the desire to work with people. I changed jobs last year, and began working with teenagers. I absolutely LOVE it. Haven’t looked back since!
4. What are the main factors that guide you in deciding where to holiday or travel? Definitely money. My transition from Corporate America came with a pay cut, so I have to be cognizant of costs. I typically go wherever there is a deal!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world – where and why? Gosh, that’s a tough one. Permanently? Anywhere with a mild, tropical climate. I absolutely love the beach, and I would love somewhere where I have quick access to one. Off the top of my head, I would say Maui, Hawaii (even though I’ve never been there). I know it’s not some far away exotic Island that no one has ever been to, but I love that there is a lot to do there – beach, hiking, etc. Temporarily? I plan teach abroad in Spain once I finish school. I’ve heard great things about it.

6. If traveling in a group, are you the ‘planner’ or the ‘go with the flow’ person? PLANNER. 100%. I research every possible thing there is to do, how to get there, how much it costs, what hours we can go. I don’t always stick to the plan, but I MUST have some sort of plan, or I go crazy.

7. Are you a Kindle or Book person? Book. Something about turning the pages just gets me.

8. Where to next? San Francisco, California

9. I love to try local foods while abroad – what’s your favorite food you’ve eaten traveling? I absolutely LOVE food, so that is a tough one. I try to try the local food everywhere I go. I recently had some Oaxacan cheese when I was in Mexico that was so good. I wanted it on EVERYTHING.

10. Do you do your best work in the morning or at night? I’m more of a mid-day type of person. 11am-4pm are my good hours. I love my sleep, so I often to go bed early and wake up late! hehehe

11. How do you choose new bloggers to follow? Anything that catches my eye. I love to read about a variety of topics – travel, fashion, life, self-improvement. All it takes is one good blog, and I’m a follower!

I would like to nominate the following bloggers:
Whirlwind Travel
Nicole
Brittany
Triple B
Gabbers
Philly Mocha
Courtney
OK, that’s not 11, but these are the one’s I’m curious to hear about! 🙂
As a new blogger, I’m curious to find out people’s motivations and how they are feeling about their blogging experience, so please answer the following questions:
1. Why do you blog?
2. Are you influenced by “likes” “views” or “comments”? Does it bother you when you take time to write out what you feel is a great blog and no one reads it?
3. How long have you been blogging?
4. What are you passionate about and why?
5. What do you do for a living?
6. What do you do in your spare time (besides blog)?
7. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?
8. How do you keep up your motivation to blog?
9. Where do you see your blog going?
10.  Who do you admire most in life, and why?
11. Traveler or tourist? Do you feel there is a difference?

Good luck and thanks for participating!

Let me know in the comments when you’ve posted your answers!
